pheeyeeeeeeew! My blog has been so Idle cobwebs are having a feast all over!

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone that remembered me on my unwanted birthday LOL! There was a lot of you this year whom opened my eyes and made me face it before, during and even wayyyy wayyy after it. thanks talaga (without any hint of sarcasm yan  ha! hehe) I sincerely appreciate it guys.

Shempre special thanks to those that gave me a surpise party. I’ve been "punk’d" I tell ya! My only question was "Where was Ashton?" how come I didn’t see him? LOL! *winks* to all of you present then.  I can’t thank you enough lalo na sa pagod ng preps… and the lying too!ha! That’s why I cried kasi all of you who can, made it there to celebrate with me. I was feeling so low for weeks  since I found out about that thing that you guys know about kaya na din siguro tears of happiness talaga sha. My heartfelt thanks again guys. Luv you a lot!

My mom and I have this recurring conversation about my badluck with "caca" LOL! Well, see.. I always aaaalways step on one. Now we filipinos have a saying that luck runs with you when you step on it. My mom would say parati ako nakakatapak and yet poor pa din ako. And I would wonder bakit nga ganon.

But then just looking back on my birthday month, I realized that my real luck runs deeper than any material thing. It’s with the loving family I have and the true friendships I have made with each one of you guys since day one..  Thank you friends for making me a truly wealthy person. muah! muah! muah! and super hugzzzz!

Don’t wake me up!

October 28th, 2007 by poisonvy

Gosh! golly darn gosh!!! I went to Montreal today for Piolo P. and Sam Milby’s concert. *Sigh*  I held their hand 2x each!!… more of Sam’s ’cause the guy never pulls his hand away ( ako pa ang nahiya and binitiwan ko ang hand nya… grabe meron pala ako nun! whahaha!)

*sigh* I’ve died and gone to heaven and I don’t want to wake up! *kiligz*

Why????!!!!

October 27th, 2007 by poisonvy

Now why would J.K. Rowling ruin everything and reveal to the press that Dumbledore is "gay"??!!! At first I thought it was just the actor from the movie because I wasn’t fully listening in on the news. So there I went on the net and there were several articles on her press conference (in NY i think).

I meant no offense to the Pride community. It’s just upsetting that Rowling couldn’t leave well enough alone the magic in her book. Especially since it’s aimed mostly for the kids! Now the media would raise all sorts of issues between Grindewald and himself or his relationsip with Harry as well.. HMPFF!!! I’m honestly disappointed!

*sigh*

Death. I hate it and all things associated with it… but a very common occurence in our lives. It’s a constant reminder of our mortality and how we can "never ever" take things for granted. I hope all of you can find it in your hearts to forgive someone that has hurt you, even deeply. Life is too short and precious to begrudge someone of the essence of your existence. YOU were put on this earth for a purpose. I believe that anyone we meet on the journeys or crossroads in our lives changes us, evolves us and makes us strive to become a better parent,son/daughter, sibling, friend… human being.

This year I feel like I’m being slapped with my mortality again and again. Of how the cycle of life continues . Some friends gave birth the beginning of this year and some friends lost their loved ones. I lost a beloved lolo on my mother’s side.

It’s the middle of the year and now I feel like the wheels have turned and caught me by surprise again! Some friends are expecting and some have given birth, while others are bereaved of a father, mother and  child.

Tonight I was just informed of a former schoolmate’s passing. Candace Kelly. It came as a complete shock to everyone in our batch i guess. Msgs were sent on facebook left and right. I’m still reeling with disbelief.

I remember my first day of high school here. I was torn between indignation (that I have left all my friends back home) and apprehension of how I was going to survive. By 10th grade people have their own cliques, walking the hallway alone in school was so disheartening for me. I missed my old high school gang even more(there were i think 12 of us so wherever you go someone’s always with you..even getting your lunch sa "service").

So anyway, a couple of minutes after the first day’s homeroom class was over, there was Sonia whom I met at the bus stop and took me into her group. Others on that group found me weird because I was so shy then I couldn’t utter a word. Candace was the only one who kept on including me even if I had no idea who they were talking about and what they did at mt. cascade.Throughout highschool I have gained my flip friends and some others but Sonia and Candace would always have a special spot of fond memories etched in my heart for their unquestioning acceptance and encouraging smiles.

So to Candace… the woman with a kind heart and ready smile. I’m so sorry you were taken away so soon from us and so sorry your little girl would never witness how wonderful you were. But I would always be thankful that I have met you even for a little while in high school. God bless you and may you rest in peace…

Go SENS Go!

Ott Sorry Sens Fans..

I’m not really into Hockey but got hyped up ’cause of my co-workers mostly. I relished on the bettings too! LOL!

Today, I snuck into a website we’re technically not allowed to open while working so we can watch the game . I just  feel contrite for the pathetic excuse of a radio they have! LOL! talk about static!!

Anyway!!!

For the dedicated Sens fans out there.. sorry they didn’t get the cup.. but hey! look on the bright side.. they made it up to the 2nd best team this season..that’s something to be proud of… c’mon guys! I guess Don Cherry was right, he looks like a ding dong in my opinion but he predicted these two teams for the final two eh?.. (hmm things I see and discover by just flipping constantly on channel 8 whenever there’s a game! LOL!)

I still couldn’t believe the little "boo boo" Emery did today. Did you ever see the look on Phillips’ face. LOL! I wonder what he was mumbling about when the camera zeroed in on him…

Then again.. I’m a ‘lil proud of the Ducks too..okay! okay! hold the booings for a moment…

Did you know there are I think 16 canadian players on the Ducks.. those guys were originally from Ontario!
Guess how many they have on the Ottawa Sens… 4!!! we’re dominated by european players!

So easy on the ducks guys.. they’re one of us too.. well.. 16 of them..

Maybe next year we’ll get them…

Wala kang magawa?

Just some of my fave quotes….

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. Hate multiplies hate, violence multiplies violence, and toughness multiplies toughness, in a descending spiral of destruction. The chain reaction of evil must be broken, or we shall be plunged into the dark abyss of annihilation.
- Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

All speech, action, and behavior are fluctuations of consciousness. All life emerges from, and is sustained in, consciousness. The whole universe is the expression of consciousness. The reality of the universe is one unbounded ocean of consciousness in motion.
- Maharishi Mahesh Yogi

When I despair, I remember that all through history the ways of truth and love have always won. There have been tyrants, and murderers, and for a time they can seem invincible, but in the end they always fall. Think of it - always.
- Mahatma Gandhi

I can see, and that is why I can be happy, in what you call the dark, but which to me is golden. I can see a God-made world, not a manmade world.
- Helen Keller

To put the world in order, we must first put the nation in order; to put the nation in order, we must put the family in order; to put the family in order, we must cultivate our personal life; and to cultivate our personal life, we must first set our hearts right.
- Confucius

…the sense of being which in calm hours arises, we know not how, in the soul, is not diverse from things, from space, from light, from time, from man, but one with them and proceeds obviously from the same source…. Here is the fountain of action and of thought…. We lie in the lap of immense intelligence.
- Ralph Waldo Emerson

Did you ever wonder?

February 23rd, 2007 by poisonvy

1. Ever wonder about those people who spend $2.00 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backwards: NAIVE

2. Isn’t making a smoking section in a restaurant like making a peeing section in a swimming pool?

3. OK…. so if the Jacksonville Jaguars are known as the "Jags" and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are known as the "Bucs," what does that make the Tennessee Titans?

4. If 4 out of 5 people SUFFER from diarrhea…does that mean that one enjoys it?

5. There are three religious truths

a. Jews do not recognize Jesus as the Messiah

b. Protestants do not recognize the Pope as the leader of the Christian faith

c. Baptists do not recognize each other in the liquor store or at Hooters

6. If people from Poland are called Poles, why aren’t people from Holland called Holes

7. If a pig loses its voice, is it disgruntled?

8. Why do croutons come in airtight packages? Aren’t they just stale bread to begin with?

9. Why is a person who plays the piano called a pianist but a person who drives a racecar is not called a racist?

10. Why isn’t the number 11 pronounced onety one?

11. If lawyers are disbarred and clergymen defrocked, doesn’t it follow that electricians can be delighted, musicians denoted, cowboys deranged, models deposed, tree surgeons debarked, and dry cleaners depressed?

12. If Fed Ex and UPS were to merge, would they call it Fed UP?

13. Do Lipton Tea employees take coffee breaks?

14. What hair color do they put on the driver’s licenses of bald men?

15. I was thinking about how people seem to read the Bible a whole lot more as they get older; then it dawned on me …..they’re cramming for their final exam

16. I thought about how mothers feed their babies with tiny little spoons and forks, so I wondered what do Chinese mothers use? toothpicks?

17. Why do they put pictures of criminals up in the Post Office? What are we supposed to do, write to them? Why don’t they just put their pictures on the postage stamps so the mailmen can look for them while they deliver the mail

18. If it’s true that we are here to help others, then what exactly are the others here for?

19. If a cow laughed, would milk come out of her nose?

20.. As income tax time approaches, did you ever notice: When you put the two words "The" and "IRS" together it spells "THEIRS" !!!!

My favourite xmas song

December 27th, 2006 by poisonvy

Ok, I know christmas is over, but I’ve been too lazy to post yet another blog. I figured since we still have the 3 kings to look forward to my posting a christmas song is still valid.

This song touched my heart a few years back the very first time I heard it sung by Natalie Cole . It still gives me that wistful feeling everytime I hear it on the radio…

My Grown-Up Christmas List

Do you remember me

I sat upon your knee

I wrote to you with childhood fantasies

Well, I’m all grown up now

Can you still help somehow

I’m not a child, but my heart still can dream

So here’s my lifelong wish

My grown-up christmas list

Not for myself but for a world in need…

No more lives torn apart

That wars would never start

And time would heal all hearts

Every man would have a friend

That right would always win

And love would never end

This is my grown-up Christmas list

What is this illusion called

The innocence of youth

Maybe only in their blind belief

Can we ever find the truth

There’d be no more lives torn apart

And wars would never start

And time would heal all hearts

Every man would have a friend

And right would always win

And love would never end

This is my grown-up Christmas list

This is my only lifelong wish

This is my grown-up Christmas list.

grrr!

I absolutely detest Performance Appraisals. Thank God this horrid event come about once a year. Imagine doing it every 6 months! arrrghhh!! ( I actually did that with the kids at my previous job, gosh! It’s horrible!) My eluded sanity!! To be honest, It’s bearable if I would only evaluate myself and the people I am fond of.

Just like today. I had to return a reference call to this company a friend is applying to. It was very appeasing because the conversation just flowed. Every question placated with more than satisfactory answers because it came from my heart.

I guess i should get to the fact that my former supervisor selected me to confer an opinion of him. Out of all the newbies that came to the company why me?!! I only worked with the guy for 2 months and he had to put up my name as one of them?

God really did me in this time with his sense of humour… and I couldn’t help but laugh with Him after I’ve completed my Sups’ appraisal. See, I don’t favour the guy. There’s just something about his eyes that are sneaky, it’s truly very unsettling. So, by filling up the neverending review, (which I propose should have an "I’m lying but I don’t want him to look bad option" LOL!) I learned to overlook my unease and force myself to actually discern his good qualities.

Lesson learned? God will keep me from disliking someone. I think He would say it’s not part of  the CV He filed for me. Lying couldn’t be all that bad. Maybe after he’d read his review he would try to improve his leadership skills… maybe..cross my fingers and my toes.. hahaha! Si Lord talaga!! tsk!

Things I’ve Learned part 2

August 6th, 2006 by poisonvy

I’ve learned that life is like a roll of toilet paper.

The closer it gets to the end, the faster it goes.

I’ve learned that we should be glad God doesn’t give us everything we ask for.

I’ve learned that money doesn’t buy class.

I’ve learned that it’s those small daily happenings that make life so spectacular.

I’ve learned that under everyone’s hard shell is someone who wants to be appreciated and loved.

I’ve learned that the Lord didn’t do it all in one day.

What makes me think I can?

I’ve learned that to ignore the facts does not change the facts.

I’ve learned that the less time I have to work the more things I get done.
